AI SEO agency in Kent

Getting Kent businesses named when someone asks ChatGPT for a recommendation. Included in every package. Not sold to you as an extra.

When someone asks ChatGPT for a builder in Faversham, or a plasterer in Whitstable, or a crane parts supplier, they get an answer. One answer, or maybe three names. Not ten blue links to work through.

Included in every package

  • ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity visibility work
  • Citation and NAP consistency for AI tools
  • Schema and machine-readable site structure
  • Authority and corroboration building
  • Monthly AI visibility tracking
  • Traditional SEO still doing the heavy lifting

Nothing extra. That is the point.

Honest take

The bit most agencies will not tell you

Every agency has launched an AI SEO service in the last eighteen months. Most are selling it as a premium add-on, on top of what you already pay.

Here is the problem with that. The work that gets you cited by an AI is largely the work that should already be happening. Clean structure, clear entities, consistent information about your business across the web, real authority from real sources.

If your agency is charging you separately for that, ask what exactly they were doing before.

I include AI and GEO work in every package, at every level. Not as a loss leader. Because it is part of the job now.

What It Is

What AI SEO actually is

AI SEO, sometimes called GEO or generative engine optimisation, is the work of getting your business recognised, trusted and recommended by AI tools rather than just ranked by search engines.

The distinction matters because the mechanics are different.

Traditional SEO gets you a position on a page of results. The user still chooses. Ten options, and you are one of them.

AI search gives one answer. Sometimes three names in it. There is no page two and there is no scrolling. You are named or you are invisible.

The tools that matter right now:

Traditional search with ten blue links versus one AI-powered answer

ChatGPT

The big one. Its local results lean heavily on data from Foursquare and Bing, which is why most AI SEO advice about "just write good content" misses the point entirely.

Google AI Overviews

The block above the search results. It already answers a large share of queries before anyone clicks anything.

Gemini

Built into Google's own products and increasingly into Android.

Perplexity

Smaller, but the users are researchers and buyers, and it shows its sources.

Copilot

Bing underneath, which means Bing Places matters more than most people realise.

Local advantage

Why this matters more in Kent than it does in London

A national brand competing in AI search is fighting hundreds of others for a mention. A builder in Canterbury is competing with the builders in Canterbury.

Ask ChatGPT for a plasterer in Whitstable and you get two or three names. There are not two or three hundred to choose from. Which means a Kent business can realistically be one of the names that comes back, and can get there in months rather than years.

The other side of it is that there is no seventh place. In a page of Google results you can sit seventh and still pick up work. In an AI answer, seventh does not exist.

Very few agencies in Kent are doing this work yet, and the ones that are treat it as an expensive extra. That is the opportunity, and it will not stay open.

The Problem

Why your business is probably invisible to them

Three reasons, in the order I usually find them.

Reason 01

Your information is inconsistent

Your address is written four different ways across the web. Your phone number on one directory is a mobile and on another it is a landline. An AI weighing up whether you are a real, established business finds contradictions and moves on to one it is more confident about.

Reason 02

Nothing about you is structured

Your website says what you do in a sentence a human understands perfectly and a machine cannot parse. No schema, no clear entity relationships, no plain statements a model can lift and repeat.

Reason 03

Nobody else mentions you

AI systems trust a business more when other sources talk about it. Not just links. Mentions, listings, articles, directories. If the only place your business appears is your own website, there is nothing to corroborate.

What I Do

What I actually do about it

Foundations, structure, corroboration, tracking, and traditional SEO that still does the heavy lifting.

Fix the foundations

Get your name, address and phone number identical everywhere it appears. Claim and complete the listings AI tools actually read, including Bing Places and Foursquare, which most audit tools do not even check. Unglamorous, and the single highest-return work in AI search for a local business. See local citation building.

Structure the site so machines can read it

Schema markup that states plainly what your business is, where it operates, what it sells and who says so. Clear headings. FAQs written as questions people actually ask. Facts stated as facts rather than buried in marketing copy.

Build the corroboration

Mentions and links from sources that carry weight. Kent press, industry listings, trade directories, genuine editorial. The aim is that an AI checking whether you are credible finds three other places saying so. That is what link building is for.

Track where you actually appear

I pick a set of real queries your customers would ask, then check monthly across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to see whether you get named, whether a competitor does, and what source they pulled from. That is a real number and it moves.

Keep the traditional SEO working

Because AI systems pull from search results. Ranking well is still most of how you get cited. Anyone selling AI SEO as a replacement for SEO is selling you something that does not exist. That is why this sits alongside local SEO, not instead of it.

Proof

Kent businesses already showing up

Three Kent clients currently surfacing in AI results.

LH Building and Maintenance, a builder in Faversham, now found by people searching for a builder in their town rather than by name.

Kent Render Systems, launched from nothing in June 2026, winning work within six weeks.

Hydraulic Crane Services, first choice for lorry loader crane parts across the UK.

And this site. If you found this page by asking an AI which agency in Kent to talk to, that is the service working on itself.

Fit

Who this suits

Best fit for Kent businesses where people ask AI for a recommendation.

Local service businesses across Kent where people ask AI for a recommendation. Builders, trades, contractors. See construction SEO.

Specialist suppliers whose buyers are researching a specific product or part.

Anyone already investing in SEO who is watching their click-through rate fall while impressions hold steady. That is AI Overviews taking the click, and it is happening now.

Honest answer on who it does not suit: if you have no website worth optimising and no reviews, AI SEO is not your first problem. Fix the foundations first. I will tell you that on the call rather than sell you something that will not work.

Kira Rop

I had the pleasure of working with Ben on a project. I handled website design and development, and he took care of SEO. Honestly, I and the whole team were just so impressed with him.

From the moment we started working together, we launched a social media campaign while Ben got to work optimizing the website and our Google Business profile. Within just a few weeks we were already seeing real results, more site visitors, more leads. Ben suggested some smart changes to the site structure and copy to help Google recognize the business better and rank it higher.

What really stood out to me was how great his communication was, which makes such a difference in remote work. Ben kept the team in the loop with regular updates and was always patient explaining his thinking behind each decision.

Working with Ben was a pleasure, and I really hope we get to team up on another project soon.

FAQ

Common questions answered.

Anything else, just ask: eastkentseo@gmail.com

What is GEO and how is it different from SEO?

GEO stands for generative engine optimisation. SEO gets you ranked in a list of results. GEO gets you named in an answer. The work overlaps a lot, which is why I do not charge for them separately.

Is anyone else in Kent doing AI SEO?

Not many, and mostly as an expensive add-on. Most Kent agencies are still selling the same packages they sold three years ago. That is the opportunity for businesses that move now.

Can you actually get my business into ChatGPT answers?

I can make it far more likely, and I can measure whether it is happening. What nobody can do is guarantee it, because these systems are not deterministic and nobody controls them. Anyone promising guaranteed AI placement is guessing or lying.

How do you measure AI visibility?

A fixed set of queries your customers would realistically ask, checked monthly across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. I record whether you are named, which competitors are, and where the answer sourced its information. Same queries every month so the trend is real.

Is AI SEO replacing traditional SEO?

No, and be wary of anyone who says it is. AI systems pull heavily from search results. Ranking well is still most of how you end up cited. What has changed is that ranking well is no longer enough on its own.

How long does it take?

Citation improvements from fixing listings and structure can show inside eight to twelve weeks. Building genuine authority takes six months or more, same as it always has.

Do I need this if I only work in one town?

That is where it bites hardest. "Best builder near me" asked to ChatGPT in Ashford or Sittingbourne returns a handful of names. In a page of Google results you might be seventh and still get found. In an AI answer, seventh does not exist.

Why do you include it rather than charging separately?

Because most of it is work that should be happening anyway, and I would rather compete on doing the job properly than on how many services I can invoice for.

Do you only work with Kent businesses?

Most clients are in Kent, but AI visibility work is not geographically limited and I take national clients across the UK.
