SEO for Plasterers

Get found by the homeowners, builders and main contractors searching for a plasterer in your area.

I am Ben Nuttall. I do SEO for plasterers across the UK, working directly with the owner, never through an account manager. Month to month, no lock in. I recently built and launched a Kent plastering and rendering business from scratch that won its first jobs within weeks.

The problem

Plastering work comes from two places: builders and contractors who need a reliable plasterer on their jobs, and homeowners searching for someone to skim a room, board out an extension or replaster after damp work. Both increasingly start with a search.

A builder whose usual plasterer is booked up searches for another one nearby. A homeowner wanting a ceiling reskimmed searches for a plasterer in their town. They look at the first page, they check reviews and photos of finished work, and they call from what they find.

If your plastering business does not show up, you are invisible at that moment. Your regular builders keep you going, but every new contractor and every domestic job in your area is going to a plasterer who appears when someone searches.

What SEO for plasterers covers

This is about being the plasterer who appears when someone searches for the work you do, in the area you cover.

Local visibility

Plastering customers search locally, for a plasterer near me or plastering in their town. I get your firm showing up in those searches and in the Google map pack through your Google Business Profile, local citations and location pages for the towns you serve.

A page for every service you offer

Plastering is not one job. Skimming and reskimming, plasterboarding and dry lining, float and set, rendering, external rendering, damp and replastering, and coving or decorative work. Each is a different search, and each deserves its own page so the right customer finds the right service. If you do rendering as well, that is a separate search worth its own page too.

Proof and finished work

Plastering sells on a clean finish. Photos of completed work, before and after shots, and reviews are what convince a homeowner you are worth the money. This is what turns a search into an enquiry, and what an AI tool reads when deciding whether to recommend you.

Getting found in AI search

Homeowners are starting to ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude to recommend a plasterer, instead of only searching Google.

These tools recommend on evidence and fit. A plastering business with clear service pages, real photos of finished work and consistent details gives an AI something concrete to recommend. A vague site that just says plastering services gives it nothing. I build every page so both search engines and AI tools can extract what you do, the standard of your work and where you operate, without guessing. It is included as standard.

AI search optimisation for plasterers

Proof

I take trades and construction businesses from invisible to first page on the terms that bring in work. My case studies below cover a building contractor, a crane and lifting company and a rendering contractor. That rendering business, Kent Render Systems, was launched from scratch and won its first jobs within six weeks, run by a time served plasterer moving into rendering. The same approach works for a plastering business: local pages, service pages, proof of the finish, and a Google Business Profile that ranks.

More results across industries are on the case studies page.

I had the pleasure of working with Ben on a project. I handled website design and development, and he took care of SEO. Honestly, I and the whole team were just so impressed with him.

From the moment we started working together, we launched a social media campaign while Ben got to work optimizing the website and our Google Business profile. Within just a few weeks we were already seeing real results, more site visitors, more leads. Ben suggested some smart changes to the site structure and copy to help Google recognize the business better and rank it higher.

What really stood out to me was how great his communication was, which makes such a difference in remote work. Ben kept the team in the loop with regular updates and was always patient explaining his thinking behind each decision.

Working with Ben was a pleasure, and I really hope we get to team up on another project soon.

How it works

1

One. We talk. Thirty minutes, no pitch. I look at where you rank now, who is winning the searches in your area, and whether there is a realistic opportunity. If there is not, I will say so.

2

Two. I audit. A plain written breakdown of what is holding your site back and what the opportunity is worth. For a brand new business, this is a build plan rather than an audit.

3

Three. We start. Technical fixes first, then your service and location pages, then proof and reviews. You deal with me throughout.

4

Four. You see the numbers. Monthly reporting on rankings, traffic and enquiries.

Month to month. No twelve month lock in. If it is not working, you leave. Prefer a fixed one-month push first? Look at the SEO Kickstart.

Why work with me

I came into SEO from engineering, and I recently built a plastering and rendering business from nothing to its first jobs, so I understand both the search side and how a plastering firm actually wins work. When you call, you get me, not an account manager and not whoever is free that week. I work with a small number of clients so each gets proper attention, and I do not tie anyone in, because a proven track record and month to month terms are a better argument than a contract.

Ben Nuttall is an SEO consultant based in Faversham, Kent, who recently built and launched a plastering and rendering business from scratch. I provide SEO for plasterers across the UK, working directly with every client with no account managers. East Kent SEO builds service and location pages for plastering firms, whether established or brand new, and gets them found in Google and in AI search.

FAQ

Does SEO actually work for plasterers?

Yes. Homeowners and builders both search for a plasterer before they hire one, and the firms on the first page with good reviews and photos get the call. Being found for a plasterer in your area, with proof of a clean finish, is exactly what wins the work. Competition on these terms is often thin, which makes them very winnable.

Do you only work with plasterers in Kent?

No. I am based in Faversham in Kent and I work with plastering firms across the UK. The local targeting is built around your coverage area, not my location.

What does it cost?

Packages and retainers start at five hundred pounds a month. What you need depends on how many services and towns you want to cover. I will tell you after the audit, not before.

I am just starting a plastering business. Can you help from scratch?

Yes. I recently built and launched a Kent plastering and rendering business from nothing: domain, website, Google Business Profile, email and tracking, all set up correctly from day one. It won its first jobs within six weeks. Launching properly is far cheaper than fixing a rushed setup later.

Is SEO better than buying plastering leads?

Lead platforms sell the same enquiry to several plasterers, so you compete on price and speed for work you do not own, and the fee never stops. SEO gives you exclusive enquiries that come straight to you, plus a website that keeps working after the build. Most trades I work with use SEO to get off the lead platforms.

Should I have a page for each service?

Yes. Skimming, plasterboarding, rendering and damp replastering are different searches, and someone looking for one should land on a page about it. One page trying to cover everything ranks for none of it well.

Do I need a new website?

Not always. An established plastering business can usually have its existing site fixed and expanded. A brand new business needs one built, which I also do.

I do rendering as well as plastering. Should the site cover both?

Yes, if you want both types of work. Rendering is a separate, often higher value search worth its own pages. I build the site around the mix of work you actually want more of.

Send me your website, or your plans if you are just starting, along with the areas you cover. I will come back with an honest read on the opportunity and whether it is worth your money.
