The campsite that had its best year yet
Three times the search traffic, more bookings, and a booking system that runs itself.

Woodhill Campsite sits in the countryside outside Faversham. Tents, campervans, touring caravans, and a season that has to earn a full year's money.
They came to us for a website. What they got was a website, a booking system, a Google profile and local SEO. A year later their search traffic has more than tripled and they have just had their best year for bookings.

You already know this problem
Your season is short. You have a handful of months to fill the pitches, and every week nobody can find you is money you do not get back.
So you list on the big camping directories. They send you bookings and take their cut, and your name sits in a row with forty other sites, sorted by whoever paid most. You are a line item on somebody else's website.
Meanwhile people are searching for somewhere to camp in Kent every single day, and finding the directory instead of finding you.
What they actually had
Woodhill had a site, but it was not doing much. In the six months before we started it brought in 518 visits from search. Average position 22, which is page three, which is nowhere.
There was no way to book online. Every enquiry meant an email or a phone call, then a back-and-forth about dates, then a manual note of who was coming and when. Fine when you have six bookings. Not fine in July.
And the Google Business Profile, which is where most people looking for a campsite actually start, was not being used.
What we did
Web design: a website built to be found, and to take bookings
We rebuilt the site around what people search for when they want to camp in Kent, with proper pages for amenities, pitches and the area around the site.
Then we integrated a booking system so people can check dates and book without anyone picking up the phone. Bookings come in overnight and at weekends, because that is when people plan trips.
Local SEO and the Google Business Profile
For anywhere people find on a map, the Google Business Profile does as much work as the website. Categories, photos, amenities, posts and a review process that keeps it active.
Alongside that, local SEO targeting the searches that actually bring campers to Faversham and the surrounding area, rather than fighting head-on with national directories from a standing start.
Social media
Ongoing social media management so the site has a presence between seasons and returning campers have somewhere to see what has changed.
What happened
Search traffic more than tripled. 518 visits in six months became 1,750. That is 1,232 extra visits, around 205 a month, all of them people actively looking for somewhere to camp.
More people saw them, and more of those people clicked. Impressions went from 10,300 to 23,000. The click-through rate went from 5% to 7.6%. That second number matters more than the first. Being seen is easy. Being chosen is the job.
Bookings up 40% year on year. The owners' figure, not ours, and it covers everything working together: the site, the booking system, the Google profile, the social media and the SEO.
Bookings now take care of themselves. People book at eleven at night on a Sunday, which is when they are planning, and it lands in the system without anyone doing anything.

What we are doing next
There are around a dozen searches for camping and campsites in Kent that bring in thousands of people a month between them. Woodhill turns up for all of them already, just not high enough for most people to see.
That is the next twelve months. Moving those searches up the page. The demand is already proven, the traffic is already growing, and this is where the next step change comes from.
What this costs
Local SEO packages start at £500 a month. Month to month, no minimum term, no contract to sign.

What Woodhill says
We're really happy with the service from East Kent SEO. Ben built our website, set up our Google profile, runs our socials, and added a booking system that's made things so much easier. We've seen more bookings and love how simple it is for guests. We fully trust Ben to handle all our online activity!
Is your season being decided by somebody else's website?
If people are finding a directory instead of finding you, that is fixable. Send me the details and I will tell you straight what I would do, what it would cost, and whether it is worth doing at all.
Month to month, no minimum term. You deal with me, not an account manager.
